One morning, Gregor Samsa, a hard-working travelling salesman, wakes up to find he has been transformed into a giant, repulsive insect. But who has really changed? Is it Gregor, whose body has been disfigured, or is it his family that's showing its true colours? Locked in his room, Gregor gradually loses his human connection, while his parents and sister, Grete, increasingly see him as a burden. For the once loving family, Gregor is no longer a son, no longer a brother - just a disgusting stranger. On stage, the nightmarish distortion of Gregor's inner world is revealed, while the everyday brutality of the family becomes more and more apparent. But who is the real worm? Those who reject him when he can no longer be a useful member of society? Or those who fall into helplessness and become a burden to others? When Gregor's room is finally empty, the family breathes a sigh of relief as if he had never existed. And the question remains in the mind of the viewer: who are we in this story? Are we Gregors, victims of transformation, or are we those who reject the one we can no longer use?
